इस प्रकार शिष्यों और प्रशिक्षुओं के क्रम से उस शाखा का प्रचार उनके पुत्रों और शिष्यों में हुआ। इस शिष्य क्रम के माध्यम से शाकल्य वेदमित्र ने उस संहिता को पढ़ा और उसे पाँच शाखाओं में विभाजित करके अपने पाँच शिष्यों को पढ़ाया।
