स कल्पयित्वा वत्सं तु मनुं स्वायम्भुवं प्रभुम्।
स्वपाणौ पृथिवीनाथो दुदोह पृथिवीं पृथु:।
सस्यजातानि सर्वाणि प्रजानां हितकाम्यया॥ ८७॥
तेनान्नेन प्रजास्तात वर्तन्तेद्यापि नित्यश:॥ ८८॥ |

| तब पृथ्वी के स्वामी पृथु ने स्वायम्भुव मनु को बछड़ा बनाकर प्रजा के कल्याण के लिए अपने हाथों से पृथ्वी से समस्त अन्न दुहा। हे प्रिये! आज भी प्रजा उसी अन्न के आधार पर जीवित है। 87-88। |

| Then Prithu, the lord of the earth, made Swayambhuva Manu into a calf and milked all the grains from the earth with his own hands for the welfare of the people. O dear! Even today the people are always alive on the basis of that grain. 87-88. |
