गत्वा त्रिभुवनश्रेष्ठं पितामहमुवाच ह।
भगवन् ब्रह्मलोकोऽयं क्षुत्पिपासाविवर्जित:॥ १२॥
कस्यायं कर्मण: पाक: क्षुत्पिपासानुगो ह्यहम्।
आहार: कश्च मे देव तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह॥ १३॥ |

| एक दिन मैंने तीनों लोकों के अधिष्ठाता ब्रह्माजी से कहा - 'प्रभो! यह ब्रह्मलोक भूख-प्यास की पीड़ा से रहित है, किन्तु यहाँ भी भूख-प्यास की पीड़ा मुझे नहीं छोड़ती। यह मेरे किस कर्म का फल है? हे प्रभु! पितामह! मेरा भोजन क्या है? कृपया मुझे यह बताइए।'॥12-13॥ |

| ‘One day I said to Lord Brahma, the supreme deity of the three worlds, ‘Lord! This Brahmaloka is free from the pain of hunger and thirst, but even here the pain of hunger and thirst does not leave me. Which of my deeds is this the result of? O Lord! Grandfather! What is my food? Please tell me this’॥ 12-13॥ |
