ततो ददर्श शत्रुघ्नं स्थितं द्वारि धृतायुधम्।
तमुवाच ततो रक्ष: किमनेन करिष्यसि॥ ५॥
ईदृशानां सहस्राणि सायुधानां नराधम।
भक्षितानि मया रोषात् कालेनानुगतो ह्यसि॥ ६॥ |

| तभी उसने शत्रुघ्न को हाथ में शस्त्र लिए द्वार पर खड़े देखा। उसे देखकर राक्षस ने उससे कहा, "दुष्ट! तू इस शस्त्र से मेरा क्या बिगाड़ लेगा? मैं तेरे जैसे हजारों शस्त्रधारी मनुष्यों को क्रोध में खा चुका हूँ। ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि मृत्यु तेरे सिर पर नाच रही है।" |
