वे सब प्राणी भूखे-प्यासे थे। उनमें से कुछ ने कहा - 'हम इस जल की रक्षा करेंगे' और कुछ ने कहा - 'हम इसकी पूजा करेंगे', तब उन प्राणियों के रचयिता प्रजापति ने उनसे कहा -॥12॥
‘All those creatures were hungry and thirsty. Some of them said – ‘We will protect this water’ and others said – ‘We will worship it’, then Prajapati, the creator of those creatures, said to them -॥ 12॥
