दिन के आठवें भाग (डेढ़ घण्टे) में ही, अग्नि की ज्वाला के समान तेजस्वी बाणों द्वारा अकेले ही श्रीराम ने वायु के समान वेगवान दस हजार रथियों की सेना, अठारह हजार वेगवान हाथियों, चौदह हजार सवारों सहित घोड़ों तथा इच्छानुसार रूप धारण करने वाले राक्षसों की दो लाख निशाचर सेना को नष्ट कर दिया। ॥31-33॥
In just one-eighth of the day (one and a half hours), with his arrows as brilliant as the flames of fire, Sri Rama alone destroyed an army of ten thousand chariots as fast as the wind, eighteen thousand swift elephants, fourteen thousand horses with riders and an army of two lakh night walkers, belonging to the demons who could take any form at will. ॥31-33॥
