युद्धभूमि में राक्षसों का संहार करते समय श्री रामचन्द्रजी चक्र के समान प्रकट हुए। उनके शरीर का मध्य भाग अर्थात् उनकी नाभि ही चक्र की नाभि थी, उनका बल उससे निकलने वाली ज्वाला थी, बाण उसके आरे थे, धनुष उसका चक्र था, धनुष की टंकार और प्रत्यंचा की ध्वनि चक्र की घुरघुराहट थी, बुद्धि और तेज जैसे गुण चक्र की प्रभा थे और दिव्यास्त्रों का प्रभाव उसके बाह्य भाग अर्थात् उसकी धार थी। जैसे प्रलयकाल में लोग कालचक्र को देखते हैं, वैसे ही राक्षस उस समय श्री राम के रूप में चक्र को देख रहे थे।
