बहुत से वानर और भालू समुद्र में डूब गए। बहुत से पर्वतों की गुफाओं में शरण लेने लगे। कुछ गिर पड़े, कुछ एक स्थान पर खड़े न रह सके, इसलिए भाग गए। कुछ गिर पड़े और कुछ शवों की भाँति साँस रोककर लेट गए॥17॥
Many monkeys and bears drowned in the sea. Many took refuge in the caves of the mountains. Some fell, some could not stand in one place, so they ran. Some collapsed and some lay down holding their breath like dead bodies.॥ 17॥
