दशरथपुत्र वीर श्रीराम लक्ष्मण को साथ लेकर रावण-शासित लंकापुरी में गए और उस उत्तरी द्वार पर पहुँचकर, जहाँ स्वयं रावण खड़ा था, अपना स्थान ग्रहण किया। उस द्वार पर श्रीराम के अतिरिक्त कोई भी उनके सैनिकों की रक्षा करने में समर्थ नहीं था।
Taking along with him Lakshman, brave Shri Ram, the son of Dasharatha, went to Ravana-ruled Lankapuri and reached the northern gate where Ravana himself was standing and took position there. Except for Shri Ram, no one else could be capable of protecting his soldiers at that gate.
