न तु धर्मोपसंहारमधर्मफलसंहितम्।
तदेव फलमन्वेति धर्मश्चाधर्मनाशन:॥ २८॥
अनुवाद
जो मनुष्य घोर पाप के फल से बंधता है, उसे धर्म का फल नहीं मिलता। उसे केवल उस पाप का ही फल मिलता है। हाँ, यदि उस पाप के पश्चात् कोई घोर धर्म-कर्म किया जाए, तो वह पूर्व पाप को नष्ट कर देता है।* ॥28॥
‘The person who is bound by the result of a strong sin does not get the result of Dharma. He gets only the result of that sin. Yes, if after that sin, a strong act of Dharma is performed, then it destroys the previous sin*॥ 28॥
