शङ्काहतात्मा दध्यौ स कपीन्द्रं तेजसा वृतम्।
किमेष भगवान् नन्दी भवेत् साक्षादिहागत:॥ २॥
येन शप्तोऽस्मि कैलासे मया प्रहसिते पुरा।
सोऽयं वानरमूर्ति: स्यात्किंस्विद् बाणोऽपि वासुर:॥ ३॥ |

| उसी समय नाना प्रकार की आशंकाओं से उनका हृदय डूब गया। अतः वे महाप्रतापी वानरराज के विषय में सोचने लगे - 'क्या भगवान् नंदी ही इस वानर रूप में यहाँ आये हैं, जिन्होंने पूर्वकाल में कैलाश पर्वत पर मेरे उपहास करने पर मुझे शाप दिया था? क्या वे वानर रूप में यहाँ नहीं आये हैं? अथवा क्या बाणासुर इस रूप में यहाँ आया है?'॥ 2-3॥ |
