'मित्र! जल बरसाने वाले इन्द्र, आकाश के अन्धकार को दूर करने वाले सहस्र किरणों से सुशोभित सूर्यदेव तथा अपनी प्रभा से घोर अन्धकारमय रात्रि को भी प्रकाशित करने वाले सौम्य चन्द्रमा, इसमें कोई आश्चर्य की बात नहीं है; क्योंकि यह उनका स्वाभाविक गुण है। शत्रुओं को संताप देने वाले सुग्रीव! इसी प्रकार यदि आप जैसे पुरुष भी अपने मित्रों की सहायता करके उन्हें सुखी करें, तो इसमें कोई आश्चर्य नहीं होना चाहिए॥ 2-3॥
‘Friend! Indra who showers water, the Sun God who is adorned with thousands of rays who dispels the darkness of the sky and the gentle Moon who brightens even the darkest night with his radiance, there is nothing surprising in this; because this is their natural quality. Sugreeva who torments the enemies! Similarly, if men like you also help their friends and make them happy, then there should be no surprise in this.॥ 2-3॥
