हे इक्ष्वाकुवंश के गौरव श्री रघुनाथ! मेरे भाई ने मेरा बहुत अपमान किया था, अतः क्रोध और क्षोभ के कारण मैंने पहले तो उसके वध की अनुमति दे दी थी; किन्तु अब वानरयोगी वालि के वध से मुझे अत्यन्त दुःख हो रहा है। कदाचित् यह दुःख जीवन भर मेरे साथ रहेगा।॥6॥
Shri Raghunath, the pride of the Ikshwaku clan! My brother had insulted me a lot, so out of anger and resentment I had earlier given permission for his killing; but now I am feeling very sad on the killing of the monkey-yogi Vali. Perhaps this sadness will remain with me for the rest of my life.॥ 6॥
