आह्वयस्वेति मामुक्त्वा दर्शयित्वा च विक्रमम्।
वैरिणा घातयित्वा च किमिदानीं त्वया कृतम्॥ २६॥
तामेव वेलां वक्तव्यं त्वया राघव तत्त्वत:।
वालिनं न निहन्मीति ततो नाहमितो व्रजे॥ २७॥ |

| ‘रघुनंदन! आपने अपना पराक्रम दिखाकर मुझे यह कहकर विदा किया कि जाओ और वालि को युद्ध के लिए ललकारो। यह सब होने पर आप शत्रुओं से पिट गए और स्वयं छिप गए। बताओ, इस समय आपने ऐसा क्यों किया? आपको उसी समय सत्य कह देना चाहिए था कि मैं वालि को नहीं मारूँगा। ऐसी स्थिति में मैं यहाँ से उसके पास नहीं जाता।’॥26-27॥ |
