पुत्रौ दशरथस्यावां भ्रातरौ रामलक्ष्मणौ।
प्रविष्टौ सीतया सार्धं दुश्चरं दण्डकावनम्॥ ७॥
फलमूलाशनौ दान्तौ तापसौ ब्रह्मचारिणौ।
वसन्तौ दण्डकारण्ये किमर्थमुपहिंसथ॥ ८॥ |

| हम दोनों भाई राजा दशरथ के पुत्र राम और लक्ष्मण हैं। हम सीता सहित इस दुर्गम दण्डकारण्य में आकर फल-मूल खाते हैं, संयमपूर्वक तपस्या करते हैं और ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करते हैं। आप दण्डकारण्य वन में इस प्रकार रहने वाले हम दोनों भाइयों का अनिष्ट क्यों करना चाहते हैं?॥ 7-8॥ |
