कोसल की राजकुमारी कौशल्या भूमि पर लोटने और तड़पने लगीं। धूल से लिपटा उनका शरीर ऐसा कुरूप जान पड़ता था, मानो आकाश से टूटकर गिरा हुआ कोई तारा धूल में लोट रहा हो॥ 23॥
