उनके शरीर में तो कोई प्रसन्नता नहीं थी, मन में भी कोई प्रसन्नता नहीं थी। वैश्यों ने अपनी दुकानें नहीं खोलीं। बाज़ारों में बिक्री के लिए सामान फैला हुआ था, पर वह अच्छा नहीं लग रहा था (खरीदने के लिए कोई ग्राहक नहीं आया)। उस दिन गृहस्थों के घरों में चूल्हे नहीं जले - खाना नहीं बना।
There was no sign of happiness in their bodies and there was no joy in their minds either. The Vaishyas did not open their shops. The goods for sale were spread out in the markets but they did not look good (no customers came to buy them). That day the stoves in the houses of the householders were not lit – no cooking was done.
