लक्ष्मण के इस कथन से श्री रामचन्द्रजी बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और उन्होंने उनसे कहा - 'सुमित्रानन्दन! जाओ, अपनी माता तथा सब मित्रों से मिलकर अपनी वन यात्रा के विषय में पूछो - उनकी अनुमति और आज्ञा ले लो।' 28॥
