पूर्वराजर्षिवृत्त्या हि वनवासोऽभिधीयते।
प्रजा निक्षिप्य पुत्रेषु पुत्रवत् परिपालने॥ २६॥
अनुवाद
'प्राचीन राजर्षियों की आचार-परम्परा के अनुसार प्रजा को पुत्रों को सौंपकर प्रजापालन करने के लिए वृद्ध राजा का वन में निवास करना उचित माना जाता है। 26॥
'According to the tradition of conduct of ancient royal sages, it is considered appropriate for the old king to reside in the forest after handing over the subjects to his sons, in order to ensure that the people follow them in a filial manner. 26॥
