नेदानीं श्रूयते पुर्यामस्यां रामे विवासिते।
चन्दनागुरुगन्धांश्च महार्हाश्च वनस्रज:॥ २२॥
गते रामे हि तरुणा: संतप्ता नोपभुञ्जते।
बहिर्यात्रां न गच्छन्ति चित्रमाल्यधरा नरा:॥ २३॥ |

| श्री रामचन्द्र के वनगमन के कारण इस समय इस नगरी में इस प्रकार के शब्द नहीं सुनाई दे रहे हैं। यहाँ के युवक श्री राम के चले जाने से अत्यंत दुःखी हैं। वे चन्दन और अगुरु गंध का सेवन नहीं करते तथा वन की बहुमूल्य मालाएँ भी नहीं पहनते। अब इस नगरी के निवासी विचित्र पुष्पों की मालाएँ पहनकर घूमने नहीं जाते॥ 22-23॥ |

They do not consume sandalwood and aguru fragrance and also do not wear precious forest garlands. Now the people of this city do not go out to roam wearing garlands of strange flowers.॥ 22-23॥ |
