| जैसे कोई महान हाथी किसी शिकारी के विषयुक्त बाण से पीड़ित हुई हथिनी को प्रेमपूर्वक स्पर्श करता है, उसी प्रकार कामातुर राजा दशरथ ने अपनी कमलनेत्र वाली पत्नी कैकेयी को, जो अत्यन्त पीड़ा में थी, दोनों हाथों से प्रेमपूर्वक स्पर्श किया। उस समय वे चारों ओर से भयभीत हो गए कि वह क्या कहेगी और क्या करेगी। उसके अंगों को सहलाते हुए वे उससे इस प्रकार बोले -॥26-27॥ |
