उनके सभी सींग सोने से मढ़े हुए थे। उन सबके साथ कांसे के बने बछड़े और दूध के पात्र भी थे। इस प्रकार पुत्र-प्रेमी, रघुकुल के पुत्र और पुरुषों में श्रेष्ठ राजा दशरथ ने अपने पुत्रों के लिए गौदान के उद्देश्य से चार लाख गौएँ दान कीं और ब्राह्मणों को बहुत-सा धन भी दिया॥23-24॥
All of their horns were covered with gold. Along with all of them were calves and milk vessels made of bronze. In this way, the son-loving king Dasharath, the son of the Raghukul and the greatest of men, donated four lakh cows and also gave a lot of wealth to the Brahmins for the purpose of donating cows for his sons.॥23-24॥
