‘देवताओं! यदि मैं (आपकी कृपा से) ब्राह्मणत्व प्राप्त करूँ और दीर्घायु भी प्राप्त करूँ, तो ओंकार, वषट्कार तथा चारों वेद स्वयं आकर मेरा स्वागत करें। इसके अतिरिक्त जो क्षत्रिय-वेद (धनुर्वेद आदि) और ब्रह्मवेद (ऋक् आदि चारों वेद) के ज्ञाताओं में श्रेष्ठ हैं, वे ब्रह्मा के पुत्र वसिष्ठ स्वयं आकर मुझसे कहें (कि आप ब्राह्मण हो गए हैं), यदि ऐसा हो जाए तो मैं समझूँगा कि मेरी उत्तम इच्छा पूरी हो गई। ऐसी स्थिति में आप सभी श्रेष्ठ देवता यहाँ से चले जाएँ।’॥ 22-24॥
‘Gods! If I attain brahminhood (by your grace) and also attain a long life, then Omkar, Vashatkar and the four Vedas should themselves come and welcome me. Apart from this, the one who is the best among the knowers of Kshatriya-Veda (Dhanurveda etc.) and Brahmaveda (Rik etc. four Vedas), that Brahma's son Vasishtha should himself come and tell me (that you have become a Brahmin), if this happens then I will understand that my best wish has been fulfilled. In that condition all you great gods can leave from here.'॥ 22-24॥
