सैषा हि मागधी राम वसोस्तस्य महात्मन:।
पूर्वाभिचरिता राम सुक्षेत्रा सस्यमालिनी॥ १०॥
अनुवाद
श्री राम! इस प्रकार यह सोन नदी, जो 'मगधी' नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुई है, पूर्वोक्त महान वसु से संबंधित है। रघुनन्दन! यह दक्षिण-पश्चिम से उत्तर-पूर्व की ओर बहती है। इसके दोनों तटों पर सुन्दर खेत (उपजाऊ खेत) हैं, इसलिए यह सदैव फसलों की मालाओं से सुशोभित रहती है (हरे-भरे खेतों से सुशोभित)।॥10॥
Shri Ram! Thus this river Son, which has become famous by the name of 'Magadhi', is related to the aforementioned great Vasu. Raghunandan! It flows from the south-west towards the north-east. There are beautiful fields (fertile farms) on both its banks, hence it is always decorated with garlands of crops (beautified with lush green fields).॥10॥
