श्लेष्मातकमयो दिष्टो देवदारुमयस्तथा।
द्वावेव तत्र विहितौ बाहुव्यस्तपरिग्रहौ॥ २३॥ |

| अश्वमेध यज्ञ के लिए बहेड़ा वृक्ष का यूप निर्धारित है। देवदार का यूप भी निर्धारित है; किन्तु उसकी संख्या न तो एक है और न ही छः। देवदार के केवल दो यूप निर्धारित हैं। दोनों भुजाएँ फैलाने पर जितनी दूरी बचती है, उतनी ही दूरी पर उन्हें स्थापित किया गया है॥23॥ |

| A yupa made of baheda tree is prescribed for Ashwamedha Yagna. A yupa made of deodar is also prescribed; but its number is neither one nor six. Only two yupas made of deodar are prescribed. They were placed at the same distance as the distance left when both arms are spread out.॥23॥ |
