रामायण प्रथम महाकाव्य है। यह स्वर्ग और मोक्ष प्रदान करने वाला है। अतः जब समस्त धर्मों से रहित घोर कलियुग आए, तब नौ दिनों तक रामायण की अमृतमयी कथा का श्रवण करना चाहिए।
