(तत्र ते लेभिरे राजन् पञ्चालेभ्यो महर्षय:)
बलान्वितान् वत्सतरान् निर्व्याधीनेकविंशतिम्।
तानब्रवीद् बको दाल्भ्यो विभजध्वं पशूनिति॥ ५॥
पशूनेतानहं त्यक्त्वा भिक्षिष्ये राजसत्तमम्। |

| राजन! वहाँ ऋषियों को पांचालों से इक्कीस बलवान और निरोगी बछड़े प्राप्त हुए। तब दल्भ के पुत्र बक ने अन्य सभी ऋषियों से कहा, "आप लोग इन पशुओं को आपस में बाँट लीजिए। मैं इन्हें छोड़कर किसी श्रेष्ठ राजा से कोई अन्य पशु माँग लूँगा।" |
