बुद्धिमान सहदेव ने उस पर आक्रमण करके मानो उसे स्मरण दिलाते हुए कहा, 'हे मूर्ख! क्षत्रिय धर्म में दृढ़ रहकर युद्ध करो और पुरुषार्थी बनो। हे मूर्ख शकुनि! उस दिन राजसभा में पासे फेंककर खेलते समय तुम बहुत प्रसन्न हुए थे, आज तुम्हें उस पाप कर्म का महान फल मिलेगा।'
