विवर्णमुखभूयिष्ठमभवत् तावकं बलम्।
परिक्षीणायुधान् दृष्ट्वा तानहं परिवारितान्॥ ५१॥
राजन् बलेन द्वॺङ्गेन त्यक्त्वा जीवितमात्मन:।
आत्मना पञ्चमोऽयुद्धॺं पाञ्चालस्य बलेन ह॥ ५२॥ |

| आपकी सेना के अधिकांश योद्धा दुःखी लग रहे थे। उनके सभी अस्त्र-शस्त्र नष्ट हो चुके थे और वे चारों ओर से घिर चुके थे। हे राजन! उनकी यह दशा देखकर मैंने प्राणों का मोह त्याग दिया और चार अन्य महारथियों के साथ हाथी-घोड़ों की सेना में सम्मिलित होकर धृष्टद्युम्न की सेना से युद्ध करने लगा। |
