| The great Bhishma, asleep on his bed of arrows, asked Arjuna for water, and he pierced the earth for it. Seeing the stream of water produced by Arjuna, the son of Pandu, the mighty-armed Bhishma said to Duryodhan, 'My dear brother, make a treaty with the Pandavas. The enmity will be pacified by the treaty, and this war between you two will end with my life. Maintain brotherly relations with the Pandavas and enjoy the earth.'॥ 24–26 1/2॥ |
