तत्पश्चात् शत्रुवीरों का संहार करने वाले प्रधान किरीटधारी योद्धा अर्जुन ने समस्त सेनाओं में वृषसेन द्वारा माद्रीकुमार नकुल के घोड़ों को मारा हुआ तथा भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को अत्यन्त घायल हुआ देखकर युद्धस्थल में वृषसेन पर आक्रमण किया। वृषसेन उस समय कर्ण के सामने खड़ा था। 24 1/2॥
