तदनन्तर राजा कलिंग के पुत्र ने हँसते हुए अपने अनेक तीखे बाणों से नकुल के पुत्र शतानीक को घायल कर दिया। इससे नकुलकुमार को बड़ा क्रोध आया और उन्होंने फरसे से कलिंगराज का कमल के समान मस्तक काट डाला। 21॥
