जैसे पूर्वकाल में बलासुर का नाश करने के लिए इन्द्र ने बड़े वेग से यात्रा की थी, उसी प्रकार कर्ण को मारने की इच्छा से अर्जुन इन्द्र के वज्र के समान उत्तम बाणों द्वारा शत्रुओं के हाथी, घोड़े और रथों को बींधते हुए शीघ्रता से आगे बढ़े॥9॥
Just as in earlier times, Indra had traveled with great speed to destroy Balasura, similarly Arjun, with the desire to kill Karna, moved forward quickly, piercing the elephants, horses and chariots of the enemies with the arrows as excellent as Indra's thunderbolt. 9॥
