संजय उवाच
तेषामनीकानि बृहद्ध्वजानि
रणे समृद्धानि समागतानि।
गर्जन्ति भेरीनिनदोन्मुखानि
नादैर्यथा मेघगणास्तपान्ते॥ २॥ |

| संजय कहते हैं - महाराज ! जैसे ग्रीष्म ऋतु के समाप्त होने पर बादल गरजने लगते हैं, उसी प्रकार दोनों पक्षों की सेनाएँ एकत्रित होकर युद्धभूमि में गर्जना करने लगीं। उनके बीच बड़ी-बड़ी ध्वजाएँ लहरा रही थीं और सभी सैनिक अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से सुसज्जित थे। युद्ध की तुरहियों की ध्वनि उन्हें युद्ध के लिए उत्सुक कर रही थी॥2॥ |
