तथा चरन्तं समरे तपन्तमिव भास्करम्।
पदातिकोटिसाहस्रा: प्रवरायुधपाणय:॥ ३७॥
न शेकु: सृञ्जया द्रष्टुं तथैवान्ये महीक्षित:।
विचरन्तं तथा तं तु संग्रामे जितकाशिनम्॥ ३८॥
सर्वोद्यमेन महता पाण्डवा: समभिद्रवन्।
अनुवाद
‘हजारों पैदल सैनिकों से युक्त तथा हाथों में श्रेष्ठ अस्त्र-शस्त्र धारण किए हुए, संजय आदि राजागण युद्धभूमि में विचरण करते हुए तथा सूर्यदेव के समान तेज बिखेरते हुए भीष्म की ओर देख भी नहीं पा रहे थे।’ उस समय पाण्डव योद्धाओं ने अपनी पूरी शक्ति लगाकर युद्धभूमि में विचरण करते हुए तथा विजय से प्रसन्न होकर भीष्म पर बड़े जोर से आक्रमण किया।
‘Countries of thousands of foot soldiers and armed with the best weapons in their hands, Sanjaya and other kings were not even able to look at Bhishma who was roaming in the battlefield and was radiating heat like the Sun God. At that time, the Pandava warriors used all their might and attacked Bhishma with great force while he was roaming in the battlefield and was elated with victory.
