तब महाबली कर्ण ने अपने उत्तम विजय नामक धनुष को हिलाकर धृष्टद्युम्न के धनुष और उसके विषैले सर्प के समान विषैले बाणों को काट डाला। फिर क्रोध में भरकर उसने धृष्टद्युम्न को नौ बाणों से घायल कर दिया।
Then the mighty warrior Karna shook his excellent bow named Vijaya and cut off Dhrishtadyumna's bow and his arrows which were as poisonous as those of a poisonous snake. Then, filled with anger, he wounded Dhrishtadyumna with nine arrows. 8-9.
