जैसे पितरों की प्रिय अग्नि मृत शरीर को पाकर प्रज्वलित होकर उसे जला देती है और जल का अभिषेक पाकर अंत में शांत हो जाती है, उसी प्रकार पाण्ड्यराज घोड़े, हाथी और मनुष्यों को टुकड़े-टुकड़े करके राक्षसों के लिए प्रचुर मात्रा में भोजन देने के बाद अंत में अश्वत्थामा के बाण से सदा के लिए शांत हो गए ॥50॥
Just as the beloved fire of the ancestors gets ignited after finding a dead body and burns it and finally gets calmed after getting the anointment of water, in the same way the King of Pandyan, after cutting horses, elephants and humans into pieces and giving them food in abundance for the demons, finally got calmed forever by the arrow of Ashwatthama. 50॥
