उस शक्ति से अत्यन्त घायल होकर महाबली अर्जुन मूर्छित हो गये। तत्पश्चात् धीरे-धीरे होश में आकर, जीभ से मुख के कोनों को चाटते हुए, अकल्पनीय पराक्रमी पार्थ ने कुदाल के पंख वाले चौदह बाणों से सुदक्षिण को उसके घोड़े, ध्वजा, धनुष और सारथि सहित घायल कर दिया।
