इतना ही नहीं, वीर द्रोणाचार्य ने मुस्कुराते हुए अर्जुन को अपने बाणों की वर्षा से आच्छादित कर दिया। इतने में ही, समस्त अस्त्र-विद्या के पारंगत कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुन ने अपना विशाल धनुष चढ़ाया और गुरु से भी अधिक पराक्रम दिखाने की इच्छा से क्षण भर में छः सौ बाण छोड़ दिए। उन्होंने उन बाणों को हाथ में इस प्रकार धारण किया मानो वे एक ही बाण हों। 14-15।
