जो घोड़े लाल रंग के थे, जिनके शरीर विशाल और बलवान थे, जो स्वर्ण जालों से आवृत थे, जो रथ में जुते हुए वायु के समान वेग से चलते थे, जो युद्ध में सब प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्रों के प्रहारों से बच जाते थे, जो बलवान, सुशिक्षित और रथ को अच्छी तरह ढोने वाले थे, जो युद्धभूमि में दृढ़तापूर्वक खड़े होकर जोर से हिनहिनाते थे, जो बाणों की वर्षा और शस्त्रों के प्रहार तथा धनुष की टंकार को सहन करने में समर्थ थे और जिनमें शत्रुओं को जीतने का उत्साह था, जिन्होंने पीड़ा और श्वास को जीत लिया था, क्या वे सिन्धु देश के घोड़े युद्धभूमि में हाथियों के चिंघाड़ने और शंख-नगाड़ों की ध्वनि से भयभीत नहीं हुए थे?॥15-18॥
Those horses who were red in colour, who had huge and strong bodies, who were covered with golden nets, who moved as fast as the wind when harnessed to a chariot, who could escape the blows of all kinds of weapons in battle, who were strong, well-trained and could carry the chariot well, who stood firmly on the battlefield and neighed loudly, who were capable of enduring the shower of arrows and the blows of weapons along with the twirling of bows and who had the enthusiasm to conquer the enemies, who had conquered pain and breath, were those horses of the Sindhu country not frightened by the trumpeting elephants and the sound of conches and drums in the battlefield?॥15-18॥
