कष्टं हीदं व्यवसितं पाण्डवेन महात्मना।
पुत्रशोकाभितप्तेन प्रतिज्ञा महती कृता॥ १३॥

भ्रातरश्चापि विक्रान्ता बहुलानि बलानि च॥ १४॥ |

| महाबली पाण्डवों ने यह अत्यन्त दुःखद निर्णय लिया है। पुत्र-वियोग के शोक से व्यथित होकर उन्होंने एक बहुत बड़ी प्रतिज्ञा की है। दूसरी ओर, राजा जयद्रथ का पराक्रम भी महान है। तथापि, अर्जुन अपनी प्रतिज्ञा अवश्य पूरी करेंगे; क्योंकि उनके भाई भी अत्यन्त बलशाली हैं और उनकी सेना भी विशाल है॥13-14॥ |

| The great Pandava has taken this very painful decision. Distressed by the grief of losing his son, he has taken a very big vow. On the other hand, King Jayadratha's valour is also great.
