शिष्टान् बद्ध्वा च हत्वा वै तेषां मूर्ध्नि विभिद्य च।
गुणावतीमुत्तरेण खाण्डवाद् दक्षिणेन च।
गिर्यन्ते शतसाहस्रा हैहया: समरे हता:॥ ८॥
सरथाश्वगजा वीरा निहतास्तत्र शेरते।
पितुर्वधामर्षितेन जामदग्न्येन धीमता॥ ९॥ |

| शेष क्षत्रियों को बाँधकर मार डाला गया। उनमें से अनेकों के सिर छेद दिए गए। गुणवती के उत्तर में तथा खांडव वन के दक्षिण में पर्वत के समीपवर्ती प्रदेश में, पिता की मृत्यु से क्रोधित बुद्धिमान परशुराम ने युद्धभूमि में लाखों हैहयवंशी क्षत्रिय योद्धाओं का वध कर दिया। वे अपने रथों, घोड़ों और हाथियों सहित मारे गए और भूमि पर गिर पड़े। 8-9. |

| The remaining Kshatriyas were tied up and killed. The heads of many of them were pierced. In the region near the mountain to the north of Gunavati and to the south of Khandav forest, lakhs of Haihayavanshi Kshatriya warriors were killed in the battlefield by the wise Parshuram, who was enraged by the death of their father.
