यत्नत: प्रथितेत्यूचु: सर्वानभिभवन् पृथु:।
क्षतान्नस्त्रास्यते सर्वानित्येवं क्षत्त्रियोऽभवत्॥ २॥ |

| ‘वे अपने पुरुषार्थ से समस्त शत्रुओं को परास्त करके प्रसिद्ध होंगे’ – ऐसा महर्षियों ने कहा था। इसीलिए वे ‘पृथु’ कहलाए। ऋषियों ने यह भी कहा कि ‘वे हमें घावों से बचाएँगे’, इसीलिए वे सार्थक नाम ‘क्षत्रिय’ से प्रसिद्ध हुए॥ 2॥ |
