तत्पश्चात् आकाश और पृथ्वी पर सर्वत्र भयंकर अग्नि की लपटें फैल गईं। दाह करने में समर्थ और अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली भगवान अग्निदेव ने अपने महाक्रोध के वेग से समस्त चराचर जगत को दग्ध करके सबको पीड़ित करना आरम्भ कर दिया। इससे बहुत से चर-अचर प्राणी नष्ट हो गए। 41-42॥
Thereafter, fierce flames of fire spread everywhere in the sky and the earth. Capable of burning and extremely powerful, Lord Agnidev, with the ferocity of his great anger, began to burn the entire living world, tormenting everyone. Due to this many living and movable creatures were destroyed. 41-42॥
