आदि सृष्टि के समय जब महाबली पितामह ब्रह्माजी ने प्रजा की रचना की थी, तब उन्होंने प्रजा के संहार की कोई व्यवस्था नहीं की थी, अतः इस सम्पूर्ण जगत् को प्राणियों से युक्त और मृत्युरहित देखकर वे प्राणियों के संहार के लिए चिन्तित हो उठे। राजन! पृथ्वीपत! बहुत सोचने पर भी ब्रह्माजी प्राणियों के संहार का कोई उपाय न खोज सके। 38-39॥
At the time of the original creation, when the great and powerful Grandfather Brahma had created the people, he had not made any arrangement for the destruction of the people, hence, seeing this entire world full of living beings and without death, he became worried about the destruction of the living beings.
