उस समय भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने उनसे कहा - 'पाण्डुनन्दन! कुन्तीकुमार! यह क्या बात है कि मना करने पर भी तुम युद्ध से निवृत्त नहीं हो रहे हो? यदि इस समय युद्ध से ही इन कौरवनन्दन को जीता जा सकता होता, तो हम और ये सभी श्रेष्ठ राजा केवल युद्ध ही करते।'
