स वीर: सत्यवान् प्राज्ञो धर्मनित्य: सदा पुन:।

उन सत्यवादी, परम बुद्धिमान और वीर द्रोणाचार्य ने, जो सदैव अपने कर्तव्य में लगे रहते थे, उस युद्धस्थल में प्रलयकाल के समान भयंकर रक्त की नदी बहा दी॥8॥
That truthful, highly intelligent and brave Dronacharya, who was always engaged in his duty, caused a river of blood to flow in that battlefield, as terrible as the time of the Doomsday. 8॥
