मेघ के समान श्याम वर्ण वाले, मेघों के समान भयंकर वज्र का प्रयोग करने वाले, जल बरसाने वाले इन्द्र के समान बाणों की वर्षा करने वाले, धनुष की टंकार और रथ के पहियों की घरघराहट से सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं को ध्वनि से भर देने वाले, महापराक्रमी महारथी अर्जुन स्वयं भयंकर मेघ के समान प्रतीत होते हैं। उनके समीप धनुष भी बिजली के समान चमकता है। रथियों की सेना उनके फैले हुए बादलों के समान प्रतीत होती है। रथ के पहियों की घरघराहट मेघों की गर्जना के समान प्रतीत होती है। उनके बाणों की सीटी वर्षा के शब्द के समान अत्यन्त सुन्दर प्रतीत होती है। क्रोधरूपी वायु उन्हें आगे बढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित करती है। वे इच्छा के समान वेगवान हैं और अपने शत्रुओं के प्राणों को भेदने में समर्थ हैं। बाण धारण किए हुए वे अत्यन्त भयानक प्रतीत होते हैं और सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं को रक्त से भर देते हैं तथा पृथ्वी को मनुष्यों के शवों से भर देते हैं। 15-18 1/2॥
Arjuna, the extremely valiant Maharathi who is dark like a cloud and uses the dreadful Vajraastra like the clouds, who showers arrows like Indra who showers water and who fills all directions with sound with the twang of his bow and the whirring of the wheels of his chariot, himself appears like a dreadful cloud. The bow itself shines like the effulgence of lightning near him. The army of charioteers appears like his spread clouds. The whirring of the wheels of the chariot appears like the roar of the clouds. The whistling of his arrows appears very beautiful like the sound of rain. The wind of anger inspires him to move forward. He is as swift as a wish and is capable of piercing the vital spots of his opponents. He appears very terrifying while holding arrows and fills all directions with blood and fills the earth with the dead bodies of men. 15–18 1/2॥
