कर्णं हि कुरवोऽस्मार्षु: स हि देवव्रतोपम:।
सर्वशस्त्रभृतां श्रेष्ठं रोचमानमिवातिथिम्॥ ३२॥
बन्धुमापद्गतस्येव तमेवोपागमन्मन:।
चुक्रुशु: कर्ण कर्णेति तत्र भारत पार्थिवा:॥ ३३॥ |

| उस समय कौरवों को कर्ण की याद आई। जैसे गृहस्थ का मन अतिथि की ओर और संकटग्रस्त मनुष्य का मन अपने मित्र या सम्बन्धी की ओर जाता है, वैसे ही कौरवों का मन समस्त शस्त्रधारियों में श्रेष्ठ और महाप्रतापी कर्ण की ओर गया; क्योंकि वह भीष्म के समान पराक्रमी माना जाता था। भरत! वहाँ सब राजा 'कर्ण! कर्ण!' पुकारने लगे॥32-33॥ |

Just as the mind of a householder turns towards a guest and the mind of a man in trouble turns towards his friend or relative, similarly the mind of the Kauravas turned towards Karna, the best and most illustrious warrior among all the weapon bearers; because he was considered as valiant as Bhishma.
