तदनन्तर दोनों दलों के योद्धाओं ने जहाँ-तहाँ सैनिक दास नियुक्त करके अपने-अपने शिविरों की रक्षा का सुव्यवस्थित प्रबन्ध किया। फिर अपने शरीर से बाण निकालकर, नाना प्रकार के जल से स्नान करके तथा मंगलाचरण पढ़कर वे सभी यशस्वी वीर बन्धुओं के मुख से अपनी स्तुति सुनकर गीत और बाजे के शब्दों से क्रीड़ा और विनोद करने लगे।
Thereafter, the warriors of both the parties appointed military slaves everywhere and systematically made arrangements for the defense of their respective camps. Then, after taking out the arrows from their bodies, bathing with different types of water, and after reciting the blessings, all those famous heroes, listening to their praises from the mouths of the captives, started playing and joking with the words of songs and musical instruments. 54-55॥
